Keep in mind that even though the Royal Canadian Mint is a Crown Corporation. It is also a for profit business enterprise. It is listed at the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange) with symbol MNT. I happen to own stock in the company and I believe that the current business model is the best for stockholders. The business model has changed since it went public.

If release is sold out - what could be better for stockholders?

The RCM itself is not listed on the TSX. The Mint has one shareholder...the government of Canada. It did not 'go public'. What you own are Exchange Traded Receipts (ETRs) not 'stock in the company'. mltung> Looks like you need a better investment adviser to inform you on what you actually own!

I spend more that $2000 dollars a year at RCM, because I also buy a few gold coins. And I'm just a regular MC Member, RCM never contacted me, if I would like to use a rep service. Even last Tuesday I did not received advanced E-mail notice, that the new product are coming out. It's only thanks to CC forum, that I found out about the new releases.

I got the email at 8 or so in the evening on the 26th. I did get the Impression Catalogue yesterday, too bad half of it is sold out already. :)

I don't think there is anything in the May release I "must" have, but haven't seen the whole list yet. May change my mind after I see it, though! LOL

I also spend more than $2000 per year at the RCM, and if it were not for this forum I would have had no advance info on the latest release. I received no advance e-mail, and items were not posted for MC members until 3:00 pm or so on the day of the release. For my part, based on the info here I phoned the RCM the night before, identified myself as an MC member and as I was putting in an order, my rep walked in the office, so he took over. He was surprised that I had not got his advance e-mail. He sent it right away. I prefer to simply order on-line (convenient) but there is no commission for the rep. I occasionally use his help which is excellent. However, advance notice should be the norm for MC members from RCM and not a function of the rep getting an e-mail to you. BTW, his characterization of the CP taking advance orders: 'it has been a nightmare.'

@clvlys - It was a nightmare for everyone.
I got an E-mail about 2 hours after Website release. Did not get the impressions catalogue yet.

I've probably spent too much this year at the mint including 3 x $5 1912-1914 coins.

As much as I would like to know the inside scoop on this May issue, I have to limit my excitement and deal with credit cards issues first.
