Even at $300 to $400 dollars right is still a very good price, to buy on ebay now. When regular release will come out next Tuesday on April 2, and regular folks will see it, that this coin sold out already, that's when thew price will go up even higher on ebay. But I'm also very curious, at what price the dealers will be listing this coin next Tuesday. I bet they do watch the ebay prices.

You can bet on it being about $250 at gatewest they will not sell any at issue price other big retailers will be close behind them.I would be suprised if you can find it for issue anywhere now or in the future which is too bad because I want to get some more.

Quote: Like I see it...Coin collecting is great...if you keep yourself in the know...and get in fast you can get the coins you want...I have no complaints.... It's all how you play the game... I would hardly call that "coin collecting" in the purest sense of the word... there are more posts about seeing ones initial investment rise and/or flipping a quick sale for profit, than there are posts about the coin itself. Now, it is no longer numismatics, it is just plain supply and demand economics...

I called the Mint Customer service on Monday March 25 around 6:00 in the evening. And I ask, at what time the new releases will be available tomorrow to order. The Customer service lady acted, liked she was clueless what's going on. She asked where I got this information, because she said there are no coins are coming out tomorrow.

I, for one, am grateful to have found this forum. I probably would not have managed to score a silver ducks subscription without the suggestion of trying right after midnight (Eastern time). Shortly after 11:00 P.M. Central time, it was available and I had no trouble buying one. Having said that, checking at midnight didn't work for those wanting the glass butterfly so it's not a guarantee. I do feel MC members (by the way, I'm not one & probably never will be) should have got a crack at them first, however.

@sergio Sriblo Most of the customer service rep at RCM only kno .s that are available to public. You have to be quite persistent with them, insist on answers, dont take no for answer. When the gold $5 coins are sold out, I called the public line as well and the service rep says "sold out". However, eventually I got 2 full $5 gold sets 2 weeks after coins are meant to be sold-out. I think if you keep your eyes open and be reactive, you will get your coins. Most of the people who follows this forum had reacted on the butterfly probably 2 weeks before MC are allowed to pre-order. They had planned their course of action: the number of coins they are getting, how and where they are going to get them, asking people around for help if they are not mc members, etc. I never took things on the back seat whenever I wanted to have stuff because I hate having to pay more than issue price for items I wanted.

@marty - I remember that day. Very fun. I watched that coin go in stock then out as fast as it was in.

@ Sergio, didn't hear about the April 2nd release. I understand the launch date to the public is April 9th.
@SPP-Ottawa, I agree about the numismatics suffering with this kind of marketing strategy. If this coin were to reach $700, or even over $400+, for example, it would get out of reach for many collectors. I for one would look for an alternative, no matter how much I like the coin or how attractive it is...there is always an alternative... besides, each of these butterfly coins is like the other, nothing super special or unique really...evident in the pics thus far; not even a pic of the coin in hand yet...
