Pictures are way too small to tell, but it looks like a denarius. Need large pictures to be able to tell who it is.

Yep, it's Roman, and looks genuine enough to me. A silver antoninianus of Emperor Gordian III, reverse ORIENS AVG, minted somewhere in the Eastern provinces of the Empire sometime around AD 242-244. Listed in the Sear catalogue as number 8626 with a value of US$25 in VF.
