Well - I am selling the coin to my father. He is a pretty serious coin collector and didn't want it to go elsewhere. He is going to get it certified/graded.
Thanks everyone for your help. This has been the largest single find for me and I am truly thankful for the fact that I made such a find. Once in a lifetime is probably an understatement.

Is there a way to find out how many of these there are? I think I saw somewhere around 10?

It is impossible to know exactly how many of these Kennedy/SBA errors were minted but the number is certainly small. However, considering that I easily found three currently for sale, the number is almost certainly larger than 10 but I suspect it might be in the 100-200 range which is still quite rare.

bio - thanks for the opinion. I thought 10 might have been low, but I don't know much about errors.

Don't let him guilt you into giving him a price that is too low just because he gave you life and all that jibber jabber parents use to manipulate their kids.
My mother is awful like that.

Baysinger - funny on the guilt thing. people keep saying "are you really gonna make your dad pay what its worth? - I say "yes, becuase if he wants to get it from someone else he may pay more than what its worth. I think we agreed on a price. or we may swap two half ounce golds for this and some silver.
