I spent thousands of dollars at gatewest am I not entitled to 1 coin at retail I was not able to get one from there how is that right
I'm sorry you didn't get one when we opened. We have over 60,000 customers, and over 20,000 of them order regularly. With this issue, we can't even supply 1 coin to a small fraction of them. Inevitably we will disappoint customers. Everyone does. The Mint, us, Colonial Acres, CCC, J&M, every one of us will disappoint some customers.

also how can you take my money for a silver duck subscription and wait a full year before sending it you are earning interest off of my money before the coins are even made.
If you only knew the logistics behind these subscriptions through the distributor network, you would understand. We sell a $210 product which we charge $6.50 for shipping on. It costs us between $15 and $20 to ship it out. After all is said and done, we make less than Canada Post did shipping the coin to you.

Will I have to track down my order like I did for the G of 7 box that you "forgot" to send me. Track me I may be using C/A for now on anyways.
If you were one of only a couple of customers whose order we lost track of, I'm sorry. We receive and process approximately 30,000 orders annually. We lose track of about 5 of those every year.

Locutis, it's my understanding that Gatewest is the leading trend-setter of Canada. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If GW or other dealers sell coins at issue price, then that would set the value of the coin. I don't see why flippers complain about dealers setting trends. That raises the value of their coin, doesn't it? Sometimes it happens quickly. Other times, overnight. Supply & demand plays a major role. When orders are overwhelming, the demand is high; prices must rise. I can see how multiple orders with various accounts plays havoc on the system...
In a normal world, this is the case. In the past we were able to offer hot coins even for several days or even a week after release/sell out at the issue price. Now we can't even last an hour.
If we were able to actually offer all of our Butterfly coins allocated to us at the issue price, online, we would have sold out literally in the first 1/2 hour. Then we would have none left for anyone at all. However, you are correct with regards to dealers setting prices. If a customer can see that a dealer is selling a product for $200 and on
ebay it's $250, they'll stop bidding on
ebay, and buy from the dealers. That sort of sets the market.
However, in the past 2 years things have changed, and more so in the past 18 months. There is more demand for limited issue coins than there are coins available. However, that demand is solely because the mintage is low. If the Mint were to make 15,000 of one of these, or even 20,000 the demand would instantly CEASE. Therein lies the problem. Make too few, and demand outpaces supply. Make too many, demand ceases because the product isn't hot.
I could write a book about all of my experience with dealing with issues, mintages, products, and prices, in my 15 years of experience. Do I personally collect coins? Not one. Oh, I shouldn't say that, I collect the ones I've had a hand at making.
What do I collect? LEGO
