Nice

But what was the gift - the Maple Canopy coin, or that small cute butterfly box?

Went to the post office, asked the lady for the new mint coins. She comes out with a box of coins.
-the seven years war
-two canopy coins
-1/2 polar bear
-Bee and hive
I asked her if she had the butterfly coin and she said that they still didn't get it. I asked if I could reserve it nod she kindly asked me for my contact information and told me I will receive a call tomorrow.

^^^^^^^
Everyone knew what they wanted and that was the glass butterfly. But the tree canopy and moon mask were also flying out the door.
Not everyone came as an individual. They came in groups, some from the same family, couples, etc.

Lots of peope I recognized from past Mint events.

I STILL don't see what the fuzz is about the moon mask. I saw it in person at a local PO and I still don't like it, I was glad to pick up a maple canopy coin however :)

O and when I asked the lady if they would get them and if I could reserve she got angry it seemed like. I have no clue why. Then I called anyother post office and for some reason they got mad at me too.

@allspice - For one of your posts on the other page I did. They did not get them in but I asked to reserve one. She took my name and number and said she would call me but there were 4 others. I do not know if she will call us all and if we are available we go in a get one but they only have 2 so 2 will not. But I am guessing. Also she said she ordered but since she did not get them in yet she had no clue if she would though. Do not know why but she seemed pretty sure on not get them in.

Just don't know what it is about this coin, but it seems to have brought out a lot of emotions in people, from love to hate to grief to jealousy to downright aggressive behavior!

How can one little butterfly cause so much uproar?

@Tristen, guess you'll just have to hope for the best. Guess the clerk doesn't want to promise until she has the coin. Are you on a waiting list?

The PO sure is giving the run-around for this coin. I called the philatelic center this morning and the rep said the butterfly will be on sale at 1:00. Phoned again, rep said same thing (sounded like a robot). Figured at 1:00, a rep will say I was misinformed. And guess what? Yup, I was misinformed, again! They never were for sale today... no big surprise there... what was I thinking?...
