It's been slow around here since we finished up with the Showdown 1-207, so I would like to see if we could get something else going. I came up with Guess the Emperor, Caesar, or Empress.

Simple rules, Only a picture of the bust with no legends can be used. If no one is able to guess within 24 hours than a clue can be given. The first person the guesses who it is hosts the next one.

Looks like a real 'sourpuss'. I would guess its a denarius of Aurelian. It looks later 3rd century and he had a reputation as a grouch.

Well I thought this was a good idea, but I guess not from the lack of responses. Looks like we are going to need a clue VK.

He ended up executed (not murdered by soldiers or an assassin).

Well, all the people of that period I came across were murdered by troops.

I would have said Florianus or Balbinus, but Florianus was killed by his troops and Balbinus was assassinated by praetorian guardsmen.

2 Emperors were executed in the approx timeframe I give this and neither minted coins where they were left facing expect for confronted busts. So I'm going to guess one anyway and say Macrinus.
