No, but I can see the resemblance.
The entry does not look like the emperor's usual portrait (yeah I know, that's evil).
From what I've seen this emperor usually has of the most recognizable portraits for the time period. I was surprised to see the name when I read the attribution of this coin... which is why I'm posting it.

I shouldn't have picked this one. I had it bookmarked for the reason mentioned above, but it's not really fair for GTE. Unless you've seen this exact coin, I don't see how anyone could guess it-- it would just be a random guess.
Perhaps I should just post it and we should move on?

OK, some factoids.
- His father was also an emperor
- He was murdered (yeah, how unusual for an emperor...)
- Daddy suffered a particularly bad death

His father was a POW, was eventually killed, and supposedly stuffed with straw and displayed as a trophy.

Yes, this emperor's father was stuffed by Shapur.
The coin is not Valerian II.

That's a really nice coin. Guess whoever made the dies had no idea what he looked like or maybe the image captured the emperors true sprit.
