I think this month everyone is just biting their tongues on the may releases...we don't want all the drama like last month... I know posters here complain about too many releases..but I always look forward...I don't like all...just hope there is a least one that catches my eye... Plus there are so many other great coins available from all over the world to get excited about..

I know they have other forums, but I've only bought from the RCM and I'm interested in what the other mints are like (i.e. time to ship, shipping charges, etc.). Thanks.

@rp14 I do buy world coins..but from dealers...seldom from mints...shipping to my mailbox runs 12 bucks or less..it takes about 14- 16 days...signature required... I find the dealers in Germany the best...they have a great postal service...from Germany to my mailbox...one week in most cases...and less the 10. Bucks shipping..

On-line dealers and ebay. From the mints - yes, it possible - Perth Mint, RAM, Royal Mint (Great Britain), US Mint - at least bought once from them. In addition: Pobjoy Mint for IOM coins, NZ Mint and NZ Post, Scandinavian Mint. Do not get lost in the endless variety, put a limit for yourself. Good Luck.

@ Cowboy: yikes, gold pandas will be a very large and very expensive collection. @canuck1us: i hope the RCM don't skip out and use the same double perched bald eagle design they used in last year's platinum 1oz coin

I take back what I said. I think there's one coin that I want from this release, a Chinese inspired coin released with the word "luck" on it, with bamboo looking slats running vertically on the coin with Chinese characters on it as well. It looks like a really great coin to give as a gift for weddings or for the new year

Does anyone have any pictures of these new coins, or know where we can find these?

Forgive the amateur question.....but what is edge lettering? How is it different?
Coin chick and Co.....the eagle coin looks just like the small gold eagle head coin that the mint released 2 months ago....except The eagles mouth is open on the eagle coin,so I'm dubbing it theCanadian 2013 screaming Eagle....I think this coin will be desired just as much by our southern nieghbors, considering Americas love with the bald eagle.
^^^ I saw some plain pictures of the May release on that RFD forum....Im sure some people will like the new butterfly coin, however its not for me and to honest one butterfly anything in my house is enough!...yes I got one glass butterfly
we will just have to wait until they are released I guess for the better pictures...cheers,WJ

Quote: Forgive the amateur question.....but what is edge lettering? How is it different? The edge lettering would be similar to that done on the new toonie. (inscribed on the side edge rather than obverse or reverse) I think it says, "1 oz .9999 pure silver" or something like that. Eagles are as popular with Americans as beavers are with Canadians!
