A couple of great finds from an old house in Vancouver B.C.

I have private access to a large original Vancouver residential estate.

The large old river stone foundation home is in a very prominent neighborhood and the owner lets me keep what I find which is great!

So far these two gems.

The snake is sterling with emerald eyes and dates 1886-1902 (hallmarked to Howard Sterling Company) but probably on the early side....1880's.

Any one else here do good at old houses?

Cheers!

The Silver Matchstick box I was able to date to 1896.
It was a give away from Anhauser Busch St. Louis.

Both terrific examples of why I love detecting and always will : )

Both Silver , both found in the same 10 foot wide area of grass under a very very old Maple tree.

GFT, those are finds to be proud of, congrats! I've hunted several dozen yards in the past, and found they are usually feast or famine, maybe one of three hold the finds. I've found many old silver halves in the front yards, and I find old home lawns to be exciting hunts!

Those are both excellent finds. I would be tempted to hit that spot with accuracy. The Howard Sterling piece is amazing, love it. Congrats
