Probably the same reason why this CWT went for $285... potential newbies to collecting and they really wanted them?

Looks like it's the DDR variety and if so $200 was an excellent buy for the winning bidder. I might have pushed the price a little higher if I'd noticed the auction.

Just because it's in a PCGS slab doesn't mean PCGS would necessarily ID it as a scarce variety.

You noticed it faster than I thought somebody would. Was going to rag on the bidiot for pushing it up that high... the bidiot was me. Was glad to plunk down $200 for it when they go for $900+ on HA.com for similar condition coins. My max bid was... much, much higher. It will get sent back in and be properly attributed (It's a CPG variety, so they're supposed to attribute it when they see it, somebody messed up here) and replace this coin in my walker short set;

You just cherrypicked Steve Contursi's bunch for a variety?

Something tells me a ~$800 cherry won't hurt him too bad given the caliber of coins he has available.

Here's the last HA.com example in PCGS 64.

Just a word of advice - don't run your mouth until you have your coin in hand. Even then, probably not a good idea.

the most noticeable part for me is the top left of 1st "U" in pluribus.

It was already shipped when I posted this thread, Drsandman. Got it in hand today. Confirmed 100% that it's the DDR.

Does it matter why it went for $200? After all, it helps other people sell theirs at inflated prices too. :)
