Its not often that I see a coin that generates this much interest but the figure of the current bid blew me away !

Makes you wish one like that miraculously fell out of the change ....

Had to look that one up. I thought the issue was the writing on the ribbons. DOH!

So much to learn.

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting!

Interesting indeed. Though I'd have said way too high a price. £800 tops maybe? But this is ebay. And apparently the Heinz sets are scarcer than the Martini ones.

Same seller in both cases. Strangely enough, both of those sets (with the standard coin) are sitting at the back of my desk right now, along wth The Royal Mint set.
A really devious fellow might just take advantage of the buying frenzy to slip a few artfully out of focus piccies onto ebay with a very straight forward description and low price.
And wait for the vultures to start circling.

As far as I am aware, there were 400 sets minted for Martini, with the error reverse 2p.I am not aware of any Heinz sets with the error reverse.I had a Heinz set uncirculated, but it had the two pence reverse 2p.

That is A LOT of money to spend on coin if you are just collecting it.

I meant that the item made a good price/high amount/above average.
And yep... I suppose it depends on what you can afford.
