When exchanging them at your bank do you need the original receipts?

You are buying a one ounce bullion coin for $100, that has no intrinsic face value. Yes, you heard that right, no intrinsic value.

In numismatics, intrinsic value is the value of the metal.

@anjohl, I see your point but you have to deal with milk spots on Canadian wildlife bullion series. These should never get milk spots.
1st 2 in a series with attractive designs. Mintage may be high but very likable. Put the 1st 5 in a nice case (As I have suggested) & you will be impressed & I believe very flappable down the road...

I don't need a Bank that is gonna pay me $100 when I can sell it on ebay at $110+shipping or directly to a dealer. The same with the $20x$20 series, there is not ONE coin that is being sold below the issue price so I don't see why to worry about the bureaucracy to be taken from the Banks.

I find the grizzly to be a nice coin. Its not often you get to buy a silver coin for face value!

Well arianzo, at least the coins look like they're part of the same series, just not the boxes and COAs.

Still nice coins no matter how you cut it. This series may look good in an aftermarket generic display!

I'm really not a fan of this series, and I'm not sure why. I actually like the idea of a $100 coin for $100, though. But I'm waiting for a really nice design. The Bison was alright, but they don't really jump out at me. Maybe I need to see them in person.

Wow, changing the packaging already might end up being a mistake, or it could lead to the Bison Stampede increasing in value perhaps?

Anyway, I am not criticizing anyone for collecting anything, we are all collectors, all bitten by the same bug! I was just cautioning people against viewing these coins as a "no lose lottery", as they are certainly not. Selling them at $110 on ebay for example results in a net loss. I think the Bear compares favorably to the Bison myself, so perhaps the series will improve.

Got my coin today morning.

Well, still nice but:

The design is "flat" - reminds me "The Wolf" on '20for20'. I just do not see the 3D. Interesting, but yesterday got in the change "Alaska" US quarter, also with "Grizzlie and the Fish" and liked the details more.

Second - "normal" COA is missing. I do not really care, but the mintage and the weight of the coin not specified. Strange.

Sorry to say, but the series became "cheap". Let it be 50.000 of mintage, but for $100 I would prefer standard Proof Finish coin and 38mm, please

It really is too bad they changed the packaging to be so cheap. Its not like it costs the mint any more to make is a $100 coin versus a $20 coin. When you spend $100 on a $20 face value coin you get a nice case, often a nice box, and a COA...not sure why they are cheaping out.

How could you make any money for them for $110 on ebay when ebay fees and Paypal fees of 13% mean you end up with $96?

@Anjohl - Not necessarily. If you have an ebay store the fees are ebay 6% & Paypal 2.9%+$0.30 so your cash in hand is about $99.91. However if you're a top rated seller then it's 4.8% & 2.9%+$0.30 respectively and cash in hand is $101.23. Bigger sellers probably get even bigger discounts on the fees.
