Quote: Customer who buy over 1K minimum. I would think that would be a "given" considering you have to spend that much to be a MC member to begin with. I wonder if there is a different level of commission given for certain types of coins - i.e. higher for gold coins; lower for standard annual sets; popular sell outs, etc.

Absolutely.
The commission % for a 1 kilo gold would be different for a $20 for $20.
According to the RC Mint, sold out does not mean 100% sold out. It means around 97% sold. They need to reserve some for replacement and their top customers.
Also you do not sign up with a rep. The rep finds you based on your prior purchase record.
They are not going to waste time on someone who purchased $1,000 on annual basis.
As the saying goes: Money talks, nobody walks.

Well, there was an advance notice email in my inbox this morning so I guess I've been "found" now.

I decided to phone RCM and see if I could place an order for some of the May releases (I was specifically looking forward to the 5 oz silver coin), even though technically it's a day early, and after the phone rep consulted with the manager on duty I was given permission to place the order. After the order process was complete I was told that my information would be forwarded to the appropriate persons and that I should receive an email from a rep in a day or two. I have also found out that email orders are acceptable (with your rep) which I'm pleased about; I was worried I would be having to phone for every order and although not as convenient as online ordering at least it can be done when a rep isn't working (or off hours). Thanks again for everyone's contribution to this thread, it surely enlightened me in terms of reps and hopefully others will benefit as well! Andreas

I think it's the guy I spoke to on the phone after the April release who managed to shake loose a butterfly coneflower for me in which case he's already earned his keep for this year! That's assuming it actually arrives someday of course.....

I can appreciate great service; before becoming a MC I was placing a phone order and the rep on the phone asked if I wanted to order a butterfly coin (even though while waiting on hold a message kept repeating that the butterfly coin and the coronation coin are completely sold out). I wasn't "hip" to what he was talking about and asked a few more questions and eventually said sure, please and thank you. A couple of days later it showed up on my pending orders (but of course I've yet to receive it but I anticipate later in the year I will). I wish I had gotten the phone rep's name as he not only helped with that coin but 3 canopies as well (which were supposedly sold out as well). He spent well over 30 minutes trying to help me find my coins.

It really depends on your pull with your rep and his pull with RCMint.
I can categorically say that it will be greater than three.

3 - 5 is nothing then...if we can get 15-20...then I would accept a rep that was assigned to me. no thanks to a rep then.

Reps cannot go over the limits set by mint for popular coins

Agreed. The butterfly had a hard limit of 3 and the penny set go reduced to a hard limit of 3 despite however many you initially ordered.

That is not necessarily true.
This Surrey buddy of mine was able to order multiple items from his rep for a limit to 1 coin months after it was sold out.
