fioti Pillar of the Community United States 4212 Posts	Posted 05/08/2013 11:16 am The PLURIBUS is a seperate issue. I've seen several of the k-4 breaks. The Ds just showed last week here in Idaho. Also, I've seen many of these'13P "detached eye" pieces on the bay. I've never seen one sell, though. Report this Post to the Staff

To the naked eye, both coins in the first photo have a blob in the bottom of the S in PLURIBUS, but in the scan only the right one shows. Photos Blob very noticeable for the right coin on the right: Blob at 9600 BPI then compressed: Blob at 1200 BPI on a second coin w/o compression needed: Considering that it comes from both the top and bottom, it looks a lot like a mouth. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/09/2013 11:48 pm The chip on the S is a common occurrence on the single squeeze hubbing. It can be spotted a lot on the Buffalo nickel a few years ago. The nickel in the planchets make the dies wear faster. They chip/wear/crack a lot. Nothing to get too excited about.
