Well, as they say, "I don't collect banknotes, but..." I do have a small collection - it's more a hoard, really. The only notes these days I actively pursue (and are prepared to pay money for) are notes from countries that never got around to issuing coins. The Confederate States is one example. The following note is another example, and it's one of my favourite notes:

Netherlands New Guinea 5 gulden, 1954 series. Netherlands New Guinea was the western half of the island of New Guinea, just north of Australia; today it's known as Irian Barat or West Papua. The Dutch ran it as a separate colony once the rest of the old Netherlands East Indies became Indonesia.
