Another very useful page from Warren Esty's site-- book reviews and recommendations. I'm trying to decide which books to buy based on what I've been collecting (and what I plan to collect more of). http://esty.ancients.info/numis/learnmore.htmlThanks for all your work, Warren! I am in need of a book which specifically deals with identification of coins of the Gallic empire....does anyone have any ideas. I was told about a French book once by a dealer in London, but I do not recall the name of it. I have some knowledge of these coins, but I would like to become much more proficient at identifying emissions and mints. Thanks YOC

After getting bitten by the "Want to attribute bug" for my Alexander the Great Tet, I did some searching and found it quite difficult to get a list of mint marks & monograms (being unable to download the Price Vol 1 linked online)... until I found this; Israel Numismatic Research paper from 2010 on a hoard of 75 Alex the Great Tets from Syria http://www.academia.edu/602506/A_Ho...ion_of_SyriaScroll down to pg32 for mint marks table. I soon attributed mine to the Babylon Mint, Price 3692. Now I just need it verified as genuine.

I got it in the end :D http://www.scribd.com/doc/44307734/...J-Price-1991It's a subscription site, but if you have a document you are willing to share with the site (It's supposed to be written by you) then you can download a document for every one you upload. (Click Download, then click 'Continue as a Guest'.Right at the bottom of the next page you'll see 'Start Uploading', click that and follow the upload instructions, then it will allow you to download the file you want) (***Make sure your internet broswer won't automatically block or question the file download as it will mess up your download token and you'll have to upload another unique file***)

Here a website where one can read Historia numorum; a manual of Greek numismatics (1887) online: https://archive.org/details/histori...mm00headrichand a question to 'echizento': Would it be possible to have something like the "Glossary" which could be used to have the information on books and websites in an organised form, rather than to have to go through this topic and hope to find something?
