I read in a Treasure magazine a number of years ago, two men detecting Prospect park in NYC following the removal of about 12" of topsoil for renovations. They kept getting permission then kicked out then permission from some other bureaucrat then kicked out again. They found lots of coins and the NEWEST was in the 1890s!! Just give me a few days there.........

I'd love to try St James's Park in London - may find a shilling dropped by King Charles II, and there would definitely be lots of coins lost over the past 300 years by office workers taking their lunch breaks or tourists feeding the ducks!

Amusement parks, under the roller coasters. Probably wouldn't get a lot of old coins, but there would be a LOT of change that has fallen out of pockets. Who knows what else has fallen out of peoples pockets while riding.

Or you can select your cut and paste, and go to the button that looks like a piece of paper with a red arrow to the right. (the 2nd one from the right.) You have to do this by going to the reply to topic button instead of just typing below the post. Check out my ebay auctions: http://www.ebay.com/sch/restoredtoo...trksid=p3686OK

What about outside of the great pyramids? That could be pretty interesting considering most things seem to be cursed. I am also kind of digging the idea of the bottom of the ocean. Seems like a lot of fun and even if you don't detect anything you've still discovered a lot.

This is gross, and I'd require a Moon Suit to do it, but the sewers of ANY old city. Just imagine all the coins, rings, and other things that have circled various drains around the world over the ages!
