Anybody got an explnation for this? It just doesn't seem to fit what the seller is saying.

Why doesn't seller include an edge on picture? Otherwise it looks a lot like PMD.

The coin looks both intriguing and suspicious ! The hologram is definitely something I have never seen before . The edges seem like like maybe its PMD .....

Looking at the coin were the two different metals meet there isn't that little space or crevice - it looks a bit like its not bimetallic - unfortunately the pictures of the coin are low resolution ..... but the coin raises a few question marks !

An "edge inscription error" being sold without any attempt at depicting the erroneous edge in question.

I think the "error" are the raised, warped bumps around the rim, which are better viewed face-on. These are caused by the lettering on the collar pushing metal out of their way, usually because the letters are too thick or close to the edge. Our new toonies have edge lettering, and it's a rare coin that lacks these unsightly bumps. So they're an error, but an error so common that we can't overlook how ugly it is (like how many ancients are struck off-center, so they stop being a rarity and start becoming an annoyance).

However, if the 2-pound coin doesn't often show these bumps (I have no idea if this is the case), it could be a real "error" - just a dumb one with little desirability. In this case, they definitely should have shown the edge lettering, in case it's significantly misplaced (which would be interesting).

From the photo it could just as easily be that someone has gone around the edge tapping it with a hammer.

Mint error? Where's the evidence to show that? None that I can see from the listing.
