From Dooby Rak: Quote: The words "intelligent" and "Mint Management" have never been used in the same sentence before. Its a fact. Dooby, speaking of facts here's another way of stating them: Crown Corporations = mismanagement, poor customer service and bloated salaries at the top (just to mention a few facts).

Reps work on commission, so yes, they are the ones who will suffer the most.
But I disagree with flippers having many options at getting coins at cost, the only one besides the Mint is CP. The rest like Gatewest Coins jackup the price of coins overnight. Not all dealers are that bad...take the eagle aka chicken head for example...while most dealers raised prices to $130-150...I sold my allocation at issue price! And I'm sure there must've been some other dealer that did the same.

DWS your an exception to most dealers.....the only dealer I know that gives deals and takes part in coin discussions to help people get the coins they want.......and to that I salute you

I think they can make more than 20 new coins per month and still make good money. It doesn't cost that much to develop a new coin these days and the metals are cheap compared to what they charge for the coins.

There are definitely great and fair dealers out there. My dealer often sells things at issue price.

OK, so "before" mint was selling more to flippers at 100% of cost (and less to dealers at 75-85%) and had their inventories regularly 100% sold. Now with implementation of their limits they will be selling less to flippers (and more to dealers) and have their inventories unsold
I guess only at crown corp this business model may be called a success

Presumably the dealers have to buy all the crap the flippers don't want as well?

In the long run, maybe the business model in more viable... In the short term, selling to flippers is worth well, but until too much people left the market because of the frustration to not having coins at the release price, I think it's a good decision. Anyway, flippers will find another products/services to make money... If you run a company and want to last for years, it's not with a temporary market bubble create by flippers that you'll last long... In this optic, I think the RCM make the good decision...

saw them today in post office. banknote is actually just a female figure (if put aside with allegory coin - you'd think it's series) 1 oz maple impressions - not impressed at all. a $115 medal GITD - not fantastic but not bad considering the look of the animal. Nice fit to the series.

Honestly though, flippers gonna flip. They can buy from other dealers at cost. If there are any true hot coins last month (ex: glass butterfly), and even with 1 per limit, flippers will still manage to buy coins elsewhere to flip it. In fact, it would cost more for regular collectors who wants more than 1 to collect. Back on topic... You figure they would pick a better fish to start their gold fish series. Very disappointed with the star fish as the first of the potential new series.

I see in the post office flyer some coins have a minimum order quantity of one / maximum order quantity of 3 or 5! Does that mean maximum order quantity for dealers or for MC members or everyone? since they list the dealer margin right above it, and with the one maximum we seen last month on almost all the June releases for everyone but the dealers...I'm going to need a GITD Dino for my niece and one for myself to continue with both our series, and I can see another I'd like for myself and my niece again.

The only coins I have interest in are the Dino coin and the $5 Canadian Bank of Commerce Bank Note Coin, looks like I will be passing on the rest. Well ok maybe the Northern lights coin...maybe.
