It is actually illegal to possess Canadian counterfeit coins.... my advice would be not to advertise a collection on a public forum...

i did not know that they were illegal to own SPP, that being said, I wouldn't mind getting rid of them... how do I go abouts? and I will upload a picture of the quarter tonight, my local coin dealer - good friend found it

bullion-investor13, I take counterfeit coins to the RCMP headquarters counterfeit lab, here in Ottawa, which are then destroyed. Before I do that, I photograph and document each coin, and then test it with the XRF in my lab at work. I am slowly compiling a database of contemporary and modern Canadian counterfeit coins. Eventually, some of that information will be available here on CCF.

I could dispose of them for you, and maybe offer you a coin in return for your trouble. Send me a message when you hit 50 posts, or ask a moderator to assist you in contacting me.

Is that error on the 2012 quarter actually an error? Or could it be nail polish or another PMD substance ?

Just wondering based on the photo, hard to tell

I'm always very interested in hearing how others organize their collections, and that Tecumseh error coin is very strange; I could hardly believe it when you said it. Thanks :)

I've seen colourized 1812 coins with off-centered coloured spots, one or two being slightly outside the border. How offset do these have to be to become errors?
