A Coin StoryLate 2003 and it was the first Christmas that my daughter would be away from home, as she would be spending it with her in-laws in another state. Wishing to get me something special, she ordered some coins she knew I wanted (I provide my family a list) from a mail-order seller. Unfortunately, they would be coming late, too late for Christmas Day. So she sent me a small gift bag with the following index card inside: She felt so badly. I remember that the coins eventually came. Fast-forward to June 2013. I decided to move my coin inspection area from the kitchen table to my desk in our spare bedroom. In cleaning out that desk I ran across that letter from my daughter. I had kept it as a memento of my daughter's love for me. Then a thought struck me and I looked closer at the coins: there was a 1976-P cent in fine condition, a 1996-P cent in AU condition, and a 2000-P cent in AU condition. I thought wouldn't it be funny if that 2000-P was a WAM? Laughing at the possibility, I removed the cent from the card and looked at the reverse. Lo and behold, it was! So I called to tell her the funny story and give her a good laugh. As I finished recounting my tale there was a short silence which was finally broken by her saying: "You're just now finding that out?". After another quiet moment she began to laugh as did I, knowing that she was just as surprised as I had been. I will always keep that beautiful WAM and remember the Christmas my daughter gave me two gifts, ten years apart. You never know when or where you may find a sought-after coin! Forgive me if this is in any way inappropriate to post here. -Sudz Edited by Sudz 06/07/2013 12:03 pm

Thanks. I thought telling the story was better than saying, "I'm so dumb, look what I've had for 10 years and didn't even know it!"
