If it is a case of pure profit, then why not auction the parts off instead of BIN? Start your listings at $5. This way you can get a feel for what the ebay market is like at the time. At the same time you can be building your rep for quality parts and fast shipping.

That is what I was going to do with these parts, but I just bought 2 more trucks. Maybe it will go better this time around. By the way, is there a place you can get wholesale items such as fishing lures or coins. I can sell fishing lures very easily and know a lot about them, I just can't find a place to get a large amount of them wholesale.

Auctions, live and online, estate sales, and classified ads. Those are the places I look for items. I spend probably 10-20 hours a week looking for items to sell. Items just will not fall in your lap. You have to be willing to work for them.

I look at estate sales, public auctions, flea markets, yardsales, and on ebay. Is there a way you can go to places like where Wal-mart or Target get their items, or is it only for them?

Wholesalers like that would require you to buy THOUSANDS of dollars worth of merchandise. Besides, why would you want items folks can go get anywhere. Given a choice most would go where they could actually see and hold the item before they purchase. That is why you need to offer things they cannot find elsewhere.

True, and that is what I would rather do. I would way rather find a tackle box full of lures at an auction or flea market with lures that you can't find anymore than buy out a store or wholesale. The old ones sell way better anyway.

Pawn shops and resale shops are other avenues as well. I have taken out classified ads in my local newspaper and on Craigslist and found coins that way as well.

I just stumbled onto this thread and it appears seal006 has good advice for ebay sellers. Summer is always a tough season and this summer is especially slow for many people. For coin and currency sellers? Precious metals prices have many buyers running for the hills instead of shopping. I opened my first and second NPB cases in June. Now I haven't been selling on ebay that long but this was NOT a good sign. Both buyers eventually paid though. I've been pretty fortunate in that regard. Also, I live in a small city of 58,000 people with low unemployment relatively speaking and there are now more than a dozen pawn, consignment, and resale shops dotting the landscape. I bet there's over 15 of them if I counted them all. Another sign of the tough times. Keep the faith and try to have fun! If it's all about money things can get grim.

If you can afford it, right now is a perfect time to BUY. Stockpile inventory in this time when you can get it at it's cheapest. Like all bad economic times, we will get through this. Make it through with lots of inventory and enjoy the ride as the economy improves.
