Thanks Nancy the odds would be very slim I deal with bulk coins when um at work (only 2 days a week now)and I think I have only seen errors like this a handful of times but some of those were obviously damage after minting
I was cleaning up some bag of unsorted errors and thought they were worth another look. I will try get some more photos of the whole coin see if they show any signs of being the same die or not.
I found a few more errors on the 2010 one dollar as well and have managed to identify a few dies before they had major errors. Sadly the bulk lot I went through all contained the same die with no major deterioration was just like looking at the same coin thousands of times haha
On a side note is there a list on the net anywhere for Australian penny errors

Very nice I havent seen that error yet and I had a quick look and I do not have one. I would love to add your photos to my website with your permission. If you could email me the full res photos to new@coinerrors.co.nz if you would like me to put your name next to the error I can also do that. cheers Jason while looking in my folder of $2 coins I did however find a coin I had for years thought was a $1 error I had misplaced. The coin is missing the last number of the date so year is 200. Just took some photos and loaded them to http://www.coinerrors.co.nz/wordpre.../two-dollar/

Quote: On a side note is there a list on the net anywhere for Australian penny errors There are heaps of places where info on Aussie pennies can be found so I Googled 'Australian penny varieties errors' and got this: https://www.google.com.au/#q=Austra...eties+errorsswollibman, Very nice $2 error.

It's exactly what the internet needed!
Does anyone know the approximate sale value of a threepence with die cracks..? I have a few.

Sadly they are rather common so I guess it would depend on how interesting the die crack was and how common. They do get sold every now and then and a group of them may interest an error collector.
Thanks for reminding me to take some more photos I had forgotten about the 3d die cracks lol

After I posted them here, I realised they were all Pre-Decimal errors and this thread is for Decimal Errors and Varieties so I requested that the post be moved. Sorry about the confusion.

the 2011 Cud on wing is an awesome error! so far I have only seen 5 of these (including the one pictured above) and it is one of my favorites. I have one and you can feel the Cud, it really is prominent. my young mate has the other 3. does anyone else have one or know of any?

Yea have a few around here somewhere ;-) and it is a nice rather large error with die cracks everywhere on the coin. there is also the smaller error with a die crack on the back of the herons head on the 2011 $2 coin. http://wp.me/P4A88C-45 Have you seen the 2013 $1 coin errors yet?
