1904 Louisiana Purchase 1/2 And 1/4 Gold Tokens

OneDollarMule Valued Member Australia 338 Posts	Posted 07/23/2013 12:50 am Hi Guys, I recently purchased a set of two 1/4 and 1/2 1904 Louisiana gold tokens. I found references to them in the World Standard Catalogue but theres no information regarding their composition. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the Fineness of the tokens is? judd1552 Valued Member United States 156 Posts	Posted 08/03/2013 11:07 pm These gold tokens were the brainchild of numismatist Farran Zerbe, who commissioned the manufacture of these specifically for the intent of marketing them at the L-P Expo in a further effort to promote the hobby, beyond the exposure that the U.S. Mint provided with the release of the gold Commemorative Jefferson & McKinley Dollars. There are a number of different varieties of each gold token denomination, some of which are considered rare. They are cataloged in a specific reference,the title of which eludes me at the moment, which was authored by the late Robert L. Henderschott(1898-2005).
