I can't speak to the grade (I lack the knowledge) but it looks very nice. Some people say the "heads" side is most important with British coins and Victoria's head shows up nicely with all the detail of her hair clearly preserved. Decent purchase, in my opinion.
I've been looking to pick up a Victorian crown myself (with the St George design) but the sterling silver makes them so expensive and I don't want to get burnt going through a dealer on ebay.
Thanks for the replies. What I am struggling with is the mark to the left of the end of the pony tail. When I look at it through a loupe it looks just like a 5 its a very strange chip ?
Sorry for photos best my camera can produce.
Is this my imagination or does it mean something ?
Aye Rooneydog, I would be inclined to agree with Peter1234 on his one, defo a VF and a lovely coin for your collection. Unfortunately I cant see the "5" you talk about, mind you ave had a bottle of wine in me, maybe tomorra if I look again...LOL
