I can't speak to the grade (I lack the knowledge) but it looks very nice. Some people say the "heads" side is most important with British coins and Victoria's head shows up nicely with all the detail of her hair clearly preserved. Decent purchase, in my opinion.

I've been looking to pick up a Victorian crown myself (with the St George design) but the sterling silver makes them so expensive and I don't want to get burnt going through a dealer on ebay.

Thanks for the replies. What I am struggling with is the mark to the left of the end of the pony tail. When I look at it through a loupe it looks just like a 5 its a very strange chip ?

Sorry for photos best my camera can produce.

Is this my imagination or does it mean something ?

Jim agreeing with Peter must be a first I was very pleased just to receive the mention of a VF

The closer the magnification of the chip the less it looks like a 5 so I am probably just seeing things.

Still haven't seen a 2013 1p.
