Great gals Jaobler!

And now into the Classic Head Large Cents. Someone recently told me the reason many of them are in bad shape was that many of the planchets arrived from Britain after having been used as ballast on the way over. That accounted for their less than optimal shelf life as pristine coins. Anyone else heard the same?

Thanks for the link cipster . Regardless of their environmental experience, there is nothing like holding old copper in hand.

It's 1808, and the large cents have moved on to a new design. The half sisters will have to wait until next year, though...

Here are a couple of the stragglers:

The C-2 1808/7 overdate in PCGS F12:

The-65-Days-Of-Half-And-Large-Cents!

And the more common C-3 in NGC AU55:

What great large cents, everyone. The Classic Head was never so pretty as she was in those first few years on the large cent!
