I'm guessing you *do* realize that this is the same bunch of Chinese scammers we've been fighting for years on ebay, right? They hijack accounts when they can, and create new accounts when they can't, but the modus operandi is always the same - key Morgans and Peace dollars at ludicrous prices. They just don't grok that a new account has a Paypal hold, and that quite a few of us are sharply-focused on detecting them the moment they appear and squashing them on the spot.

If I can commit to buy without paying, I do it with every counterfeit I see. At the end of the week, I call ebay customer service and they go through and make sure all of those transactions are cancelled. Easy way to prevent people from being scammed, and my account doesn't get a NPB strike. This guy required immediate payment, so it didn't work, just took me to that screen.

Whenever I have done a commit to buy on a buy it now listing it has told me that until I pay for it someone else can still buy it out from under me. In other words the commit to buy does not keep some one else from buying it and getting scammed.
