I wrote Dansco this morning and asked about progress and changes with the U.S. type set #7070 book... this is the reply I received....
"I haven't heard when we should be getting more 7070 type albums in from Dansco. I do know they are working on updating the modern page(s) but that is all I know. We will email you back again once when we have that album back in stock or when new info is available. Thank you for your email and if you have any other questions feel free to reply to this message"
i have my fingers crossed that it'll be this year, surely not holding my breath for sure lol... PEACE...

Ive just accepted that by the time a new album comes out the modern page will be just another classic page lol.
By the way I think you might have made the mistake we all did when we first started, but the danscoalbumstore isn't actually Dansco theyre just a reseller. The actual company is in LA I believe (somewhere in CA anyway) and doesn't directly sell to the public.

Some of the new members are "Wishin & Hoping" for a new 7070. Here is a post from 7/6/12 that had all "Wishin & Hoping" the same tune. https://goccf.com/t/123350Oh well.

I pass by a building a couple times a month that has DANSCO on the outside on State Road 277 on the outskirts of Abilene, TX, although they "pump" a different kind of money from collectors.

US type sets seem to be coming more popular. I think Dansco would be making a big mistake not making another production run of their 7070's (or a new improved model).
BTW it looks like Intercept Shield produced a type set album. Depending on what's included it could be superior to the Dansco album. Oh, and it's more expensive (no surprise there).

Dansco not coming out with a new type album is, indeed, bad business for them, especially since the old one is out of print.
I just want to remind everyone of the obvious, that you don't need Dansco, or any album, to make a type set. I've made my own slabbed US type set. I included everything I wanted and nothing I didn't. I like it very much. Just something to consider.
Yes, Intercept shield does have a type set album. It's fine I suppose. Intercept shield is actually not as high quality as Dansco, worse construction and some holes are slightly miss-sized. If you get the Dansco slip case, then it protects better against "whatever" anyway.

I have the Intercept Shield type set album. I would not characterize it as superior to the Dansco album. 1) In my opinion, the Dansco pages appear to be better built. The Intercept pages' glossy surfaces are not adhered well to the cardboard. If you are not careful with the insertion or removal of coins, the surface edges nearest the round cutouts will separate. 2) I can't comment on the 7070 in terms of what spaces are included or omitted. The Intercept misses many spacers for older series. Example: for halves, the Intercept's earliest holder is Capped Bust 1807-1836. For dimes, its Capped Bust 1828-1837. 3) Be careful if you ever need to unscrew the aluminum pins which hold the album together. They are made from soft aluminum, and the threads can easily become galled up because of the soft metal and coarsely-cut threads. I'm speaking from experience! If you do take them apart, make sure that the threads are clean before you reassemble (a small amount of grease on the threads will save you from trouble).
I bought the Intercept Shield type album to get me started. The album is housed in a nice box, and overall, it looks nice. However,I intend to purchase the Dansco 7070 as soon as it becomes available.

with hesgut, I assembled my own version of a type set. Included some variations not in a 7070, eliminated some variations that were in a 7070.

Quote: this seems like a lie, "discontinued"? really guy?... rare I could understand cause they are hard to find but seriously?.... At this point for all intensive purposes its been discontinued. I've stopped keeping track be weve got to be at the years point by now for when the last runs of them were. Theres a legitimate chance youll never see a new one come out. It doesn't take this long to update the album if they were serious about it
