1828 is my favorite year for Half Cents, because it includes my favorite variety, the C-2 12-stars. I can just imagine the scene: The die maker carefully punches the stars, centered, well-spaced, 7 on one side, 5 on the other...DOH! And then, they don't fix it; they don't discard it; they just go ahead and use it. Says a lot about the early mint and about the image of Half Cents.

Nice Unicorn, Exoguy! I'd love to see more counterstamps - to me, they are intriguing parts of the history of these early coins.
