Here's a Cud that looks like a harpooned whale, what with the extended line die break that's strung out amid the stars. The variety is N-12. I apologize for the unnatural color. The coin is a pleasing brown, and the background was actually red when I took the pic. I'll need to experiment more when taking pics.

I got lucky on the the Cud, finding it in a dealer's bowl of lower grade coins. It's the sort of find that helps charge my aging batteries ... The so-called "whale" Cud reminds me of a space shuttle with an umbilical cord, flying among the stars. As much as I admire the high, condition coins posted in this thread, like the 1829 Half Cents among others, even the lower grade coppers offer much appeal to my aging eyes - like the mahogany shading on Cipster's 1831, above, seemingly veiling the history of this well-circulated coin.

Sorry didnt want to take it out of the album. Probably should have to see if someone can pinpoint the variety.

My 1832 cent won't win any prizes, but it could tell a few tales:

I've been enjoying all the wonderful early cents, but I'm happy to welcome the Half Cents back today! Here is an 1832, still with the same classic head that the cents abandoned years before:

Common cents - the best kind. Everyone's cents and Half Cents are beautiful! Oh the stories they could tell.
