One wrong thing I see posted...
You can only use 2x2's that are completely plastic. You can't staple 2x2 together. You must wrap it in paper or something to hold it together. I have sent my gold coin to ANACS. I wrapped the 2x2 inside hard paper so it wouldn't come apart.
(the 2x2's that are plastic are called flips sometimes)
And most importantly, I hope your kid is alright.

If you insure it for 50 or 100k through the USPS isn't that going to cost a bundle?

I hope this coin is real. This is one coin I would want for my collection any day.

Quote: Isn't there a limit though? With most mail service the limit is $5,000 which has a $16.25 premium above postage. With Registered Mail (Really the only shipping option in this case if you want $50K worth of insurance), the premium would be about $85 above the postage. So basically you are looking at roughly $100 to send something via Priority Mail within the US insured for $50K

$100? For that money, I'd rather fly to their location and wait for the grading.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't pay $100 for insurance. Maybe $50 for 25k worth (which is what it would be roughly), but that's just me. You have to find the balance of protecting yourself and preparing to minimize your losses should things not turn out good for the coins authenticity.

Voshus007- Can you tell me your location? I would like to try to set something up with you and get another opinion before I spend the money sending it out.

One real problem with attmepting to have a coin dealer look at your coin is if he should try to take it out of your sight. He could easily replace it with a different coin. Might not look the same but how could you prove which one you brought him. This is the one great thing about TPGS's such as PCGS or NGC. They constantly deal with excessively valuable coins so yours would just be one more of them if real.

Legacy coin shop it's on 220 by the old food lion in the little plaza. Yes the more opinions the better and I can assure you we won't swap it out for another haha

Don't know how far you are away from NGC in Florida, perhaps call them and talk to a representative, take a drive and maybe a walk in submission?
