Is it the shipping that's delayed, or the simple fact that the coins themselves haven't been made yet. I suspect it's a hard-and-fast rule that cannot be broken that the Mint requires a certain number of orders before a coin is run. Cancelling an order pushes the production date further back, and the odd coin that does get shipped out is more than likely a return from somewhere just repackaged and sent off to the person at the top of the waiting list.

Of course I may be way off, but doesn't it seem that the closer you order a coin to its release date the more likely you are to receive it promptly because it's coming from the original production run. Just because the Mint says production is limited to 5000 doesn't mean they run 5000 right off, just that they'll never make any more than 5000. They might have only run off 2000 to start, and are waiting for more orders before running more to fill those orders - but only they know what that number is.

That said, their customer relations really suck.

Yeah...I suspect the same. And someone mentioned it too (CC-Ottawa maybe), that it more looks like production delay - in generally.

In the case of this subscription - since we already got the August, September and November coins and didn't get the July+Box, I thing the issue in the box production. It could be slower than planned (less believable), or Mint want to put another 'protection" against cancellations.

Go7 - box delay
O Canada 1/2oz - box delay
Ducks - in time
O Canada 1oz - in time
How it was with Lunar calendar coins?

And it really sounds stupid "shipping delay", IMO, shows corporation as unable to complete the shipping well done....I prefer, that the Customer Service will tell me "We just wait, that you will get all the coins in the series"...

The delay some folks are experiencing for these boxes is very hard to fathom.

I'll take a wild guess that the mint is waiting for more boxes.

However it would be much better service if the customers were told the truth.

At least some of you received your October coin. I'm still waiting for the July coin and box, and now the October coin as well.

I just received the box of my 2nd 1/2oz subscription. But I found that the box is different than my first one.
My first one (which I received about a month ago) has a sheet of black flock at the bottom side of the box, with "Made in Canada" etched on it. But my new one doesn't.

For those who finally received your box this week, does your box has the black flock at the bottom side? I wonder if it is just my box, or the Mint has left that part out for newer boxes...

After speaking with the mint, I was informed that a number of the boxes they received were substandard and had to be sent back. There are still people waiting to receive the box and it's a slow process since many (?) are defective. Perhaps this explains the delay.

If there's no black flocking on the bottom, can it be returned? Or perhaps the mint is cutting corners to speed up the process

I assume I can return it for an exchange, just need to find the time to get an estimate on how much the shipping is using the CP web tool. The Mint only reimburse a max of $15 for shipping, so if shipping is over 15$ I might just keep it. It don't bother me that much honestly. If I don't have the older one to compare I wouldn't know the new one is missing the flock.
