I do not think, that with starting bid of CAD 1050 there will be interest to this item.
What the benefit of this for the ordinary collector?

Extremely low mintage - there are a lot of world 1oz coins with mintage of 1.000 that priced near $100 - $200

Loonie / Silver Dollar collectors - may find the Loonie only for $400.

People with 2007 as wedding date - they might have it, and if not - do not think, that they need it for such big money.

But, it all my thoughts and personal opinion only.

I think if this is something a person REALLY wants because they like it, then they should get it.

However, don't buy it just because it's 'rare' and 'low mintage'.

I don't think I could ever justify spending $1000 on a set like this that is only six years old. It's just not worth it, in my opinion. But, like I said, if this is something you really want only you can be the judge of whether or not it's worth it. You may not make any money off of it, but it's like the first couple Bird coins. If you buy one at $400, you are not going to make money off of it, but if you buy it at $400 to complete a set...that could be a reward in itself.

There only seem to be two forum members who are really excited about these sets when this topic comes up every few months. The other is 715vkf and he/she is the seller in this ebay auction - and most others for this set.

I agree with wlouison "don't buy it just because it's 'rare' and 'low mintage'."

If your buying this set as an investment, forget it. It's at the high point and in my opinion will lose value in the long run.

The one bidder on that auction has a history with the seller and has bought the set from him in the past. I guess that's one more person who really likes it.

Maybe is the same seller with 2 accounts. It's strange the bid after less than 2 hours of starting auction.

If you have a saved search and it happens to run within a couple of hours of the listing being created then you get a notification and enter a bid. It's worked out that way for me once or twice that I can remember.
I paid <$850 total for this set within the past year and I thought that was on the high end at the time. But when you're OCD what can you do?
