I am posting this for my son who was given it. Is it magnetic? There was a very small mintage so while they did circulate they would not have been commonly encountered. A real one in fine condition would be in the low $'000's. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 08/23/2013 05:25 am The details of this piece are way too blurred, and this suggests a 2nd or third generation copy off the original. The surface texture suggests that it was cast, not struck. It appears that it was artificially patinated to look old, and to hide some of the blurred detail. These pieces are generally faked to fool novice collectors, at least your anonymous friends here in the CCF, who have nothing to gain or loose, can say it like it is. This one could have been made as much as 40 years ago, but could have been more recent. I have seen a couple of genuine examples up for auction over the years. Report this Post to the Staff
