serial Pillar of the Community Australia 539 Posts	Posted 09/14/2013 08:30 am well got to help a fellow collector out :) but srsly I have seen 1st hand some of the tactics used by some dealers. such as a dealer being handed a 23 half penny looking at it and then asking the person "so what have you got there?" with the next statement to come out of his mouth likely to be "I can give you $20 for it" if that person replied "I don't know" or " a coin left to me" that's why it is smart to get it graded then the con grade is not in question when you go to sell it. my 2 cents Report this Post to the Staff
dcoin Valued Member Australia 191 Posts	Posted 09/14/2013 08:50 am I believe that coin will grade MS63BN (maybe 64BN but it's a little hard to see from the pics), in my opinion you would be better selling it as is (through an auction rather than to a dealer) than getting it slabbed as BN coins (unless they make 64/65 or are a rare year) normally achieve better prices raw than with PCGS, just my Two Cents. It also depends if you are in a hurry as PCGS takes 3-4 months at the moment. Report this Post to the Staff

As its only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it? Unless its worth a heap of money I may just hold onto it. dcoin Valued Member Australia 191 Posts	Posted 09/15/2013 08:51 am Your coin is worth $500-750 noting you would have to pay an auction house or use a site like ebay to sell it so you should factor in about a 10-20% cost for that. I think the above valuation of $600-700 is very fair, remember we aren't trying to buy your coin and have no vested interest in what it's worth, some dealers on the other hand....
