I've collected the Ben Franklin, the JFK, and Walking Liberty. I thought I was in good shape until I found this: http://www.govmint.com/item/2008-S-...oof/184903/8

I didn't realize the U.S. had a commemorative Half Dollar.

a commemorative half dollar

You mean you didn't know about that coin in particular? Or any US commemorative halfs?

The US has a whole series of classic commemorative 90% halfs (1892/93, 1900, 1903, '04, '05, 1915-18, 1920-1954 ((not all dates)). As well as the modern commemorative halfs, dollars and $5 or $10 golds (1982-date). The 2008 is the bald eagle design for the year, it comes in a clad half, silver dollar and $5 gold.

Saw this site's asking price for 2013 annual silver proof set of 99.95 and a red flag popped up anytime a retailer wants nearly double for the same thing currently being offered from the mint for less than 60.
