Whoever thought that the gold Superman coin was going to keep its momentum past $2000 past Christmas was wrong. In case you haven't noticed, once most hot coins are released and are in collector hands, the price drops. The only coin off the top of my head that not only remained above issue price but a year later still has gain momentum was the 5 penny silver set.

definitely some super deals on 7 coin Superman set....such as complete set sold for 1950 on a 7 day ebay auction.......the seller still makes a tidy profit of 500 bucks after fees and another primary gold bites the dust...its only a matter of time and mathematics before those Superman gold coins sell for scarcity value.....of course time is the key factor and the demand is obviously there but if you can get a set for under 2K because the seller needs quick cash.... it works for both parties ....so..up up up and away....

Two opposing views on the gold Superman coins. I tend to agree with the first one. The coin is following the trend of every single coin issued by the Mint.

The second opinion is too optimistic. The only people making money are the sellers/flippers who bought the gold Superman coin at issue price. People who bought it for $2000 are going to lose money if they decide to sell.
Scarcity of the coin means nothing if the price is too high. Sure there is demand for the coin, but at what price? The fact that it is dropping in price shows some people are unwilling to pay too much for it.

The coin composition isn't even .9999 gold so I think the asking price for this coin is a big rip off. I have every Superman coin but the gold one and to be honest, I don't even mind not having it. For the price of the coin, you could buy so many silver coins which will build your collection. However, I'm sure we all regret not buying it day one and flipping it to make a quick buck LOL

What I honestly think is that when the price hit over $2000, people bought for the following reasons..:

1. That there was a fear the coin was going to sell out on the secondary market.
2. People needed the gold coin to complete their set since it was a lower mintage.
3. Too much hype.

My guess is that long term this coin will trade above issue price but never again towards $2000.

ONLY TIME WILL TELL

I think many people that started buying at $1500 were flippers and not people that wanted to keep the coin ... that could explain why now is dropping.

it hasnt even been 3 months into the release yet...Gold Superman coins are steadily disappearing off the market into the hands of collectors..who cares if they are now selling back for only double issue price?..its a mathematical certainty based on demand and scarcity.. if arianzo gets the 900.00 coin it will be good luck for him because that coin will be worth a small fortune in time.......how much time is anyones guess..Gold Superman is a collector coin period....most of them will never see the market again. I reprase /repeat myself..Superman gold is truly an investment winner with a proven branded track record of 75 years. Even the silver coins will continue to outperform any RCM product of recent years....hold the gold

So .... finally I received today my Hologram coin !
It was a surprise as I didn't receive any notice nor email.

When I bought the Superman Coins, according to the pictures, I'had decided that this coin will stay with me.

The coin is ok, my only issue is with the plastic transparent box that has many like scratches. It seems like dirty but I tried to clean it and nothing. There are like 3. Maybe I'll ask for another box as I won't return the coin.
