Quote: That would be a great collectible piece for those who cannot afford the first comic. the coin as an item is much more useful. It also kind piece of art. While the comics just printed paper, useless. yes, this is rare, but any dusty antique stuff is also rare. The coin is good Fortunately, the mintage is enough for everyone.

The Kingdom Come Superman on the cover of Justice Society of America #10. Art by Alex Ross.circa 2007 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/JUSTICE-SOCI...f8306&_uhb=1this is quite possibly the source of the new Superman image...one of the modern alternative versions of Superman..strange they should choose that one..I am assuming that the background color is black and not navy blue...it looks black to me...this is just my theory and there may be a much earlier version but the first series used modern images as well as original ones....ive only just done a cursory search through my overstreet comic catalogue so my idea may be off the mark

@mts....thankyou..of course ....but I'm mainly focusing on the shield black and red color combination...however ...i understand now that petstuff post has the actual source image ....and have discovered that this issue #596 was actually released the day after the Sept 11 2001 event and this #596 comic is titled ...aftermath of war.... and is the last of the ..our worlds at war series ...which comprised issues of Adventures of Superman #593-595.... and oddly enough #596 has a panel which featured the damaged twin towers.....the shield colors of red and Black background were also used in the kingdom come Superman version I referred to which came out in 2006....so that is a bit more background of the unusual color code of the shield
personally without seeing the actual gold coin I think it is too early to say how well it will look but I think black on gold always looks good

I'm so excited for these new coins. I'm the biggest Superman fan ever, so it's nice to see two of my greatest loves combined into one...again. Including last years coins, I own every comic book that each coin took an image from (except Action Comics #1, of course). It's pretty neat to see the original artwork from the comic beside the coins. :)

This coins will go well. Will not say, that will be extremely popular, but will hold the value. Finally RCM issuing stuff for "all the people". May be this will be series of annual sets? Now the question: how many average MC should buy of each coins, to be able to get some real benefit from MC membership?

Its not a matter of how many Superman coins MC members should buy but how many they CAN buy. I am sure there will be a limit on the number of coins you buy. I am guessing at 1 gold Superman per MC member and 2 for the rest of the coins.
Also, given there is a huge demand for the gold Superman coin how are they going to satisfy everyone given there is only 2000 of them? The post office is going to get an allotment. The dealers will get an allotment. Then Mint reps get allotment for their preferred customers. How many is left for MC members without a rep? When it is opened to MC members without reps, the coins could be sold out in 5 minutes. And how many MC members are there? I would think there must be thousands of them, since it is easy to hit the annual $1000 coin purchase level.

Well I am MC, and I know a Canada Post dealer whose my dads friend, I met him and he told me that just let him know how many of each I want and he will order for me, by thursday 21st, and also a rep told me he will save one for me on the 21st as well and my friend whose is MC is not planning on getting the gold, so he can buy one for me if needed. But for me the issue is that I cant afford to buy 3 gold superman coins even if I have the option to, as of now I am just going to secure 1 of each.

<<< MC w/ rep. Not interested at all so won't be ordering. That's at least one available for the rest of you.

We have to plan it IMO. Since the item will not be "hot", but the popular due to limited mintage and theme, that everyone like, the demand will always will be bigger than supply. So each coin, lets say will bring $1000 profit netto. On basis of this, isn't worth to buy 20 coins....to take a loan or something, and to have 20.000 profit? Easy money, thanks RCMNOTE: It just the theory and question.

I think, this is the pre-sale. Since there is no "live" pictures.
So even not the public or fans starting the game...started by reseller, and others will also start asking high. The previous one had it only for $900+

Yeah, and there are 4 new gold 2014 Superman coins still available for sale for $950 US. It's too early to tell what will happen with the new gold coin. It's a bold, dynamic design, but I really am disappointed with the new packaging. BTW, does this Superman gold coin look like the real deal or is it a fake? Thanks in advance! http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOOK-SUPERM...em3f3b6479e0

@allspice. Read the description: Quote: Not sure what metal the coin is, bought this and many other coins at the flea market. Real Superman coin from a flea market? Really? Oh, come on...

@allspice, take a look at the second picture:
there is second coin, near the first. Looks like the seller found the roll of them in the flea market..
