Nic Pillar of the Community Philippines 1156 Posts	Posted 09/23/2013 10:19 am very nice coin! one of my favorites, my 1889 km2 cost me $52 a couple years back, I got lucky and got the lion's nose. todays prices are higher when the lion's nose is gone, its vf at best, the nose being one of the first to go. Nic Pillar of the Community Philippines 1156 Posts	Posted 09/25/2013 07:04 am just some food for thought- the Ethiopian birr's lion nose is just like the peacock body in the Burma 1852 1kyat, they both jut out from the plane of the coin's edge, thus when the coin is in lain down position, as most circulated coins tend to be, those areas get quickly worn out a lot faster than the body. anyway it being worn out separate from the rest, is for me, IMHO, a great indication the coin is for real.
