You need to keep in mind , however, that prior to 2011, ownership of silver bullion was illegal in China. The increases in mintages are not flooding the world market, they are in response to about 2 billion new eligible collectors in the Chinese market. To me, despite the increase in production, there are as few Pandas as ever making their way to America.

I agree with denco7 on this aspect.
However, that doesn't mean we will see a significant increase in value of the latter year Panda in a few months or even few years.... also, the price in China will probably more than in USA..... because of the simple fact that the US's collector/stacker market is probably at equilibrium. The premium/increase is where the demand is (local China market, if you can tap into that).

well, time to time I sell Chinese numiz on ebay with the mintage up to 100k ... 4 winners out of 5 are from US
that's where demand is in general
may be for rare coins some Chinese collectors will bid up price to the moon but for average collectible numiz-item the real demand (the highest bidders) is somewhere else.

The 2014 Pandas have been released or at least 200 of them.

I wonder what was the cost at the show? The Panda look a little awkward this year...

Thanks denco7 for the link!

I like the Panda coins but designs like that are why I don't buy them every year. 2013 was much better.

Really ? I like this one. Pandas are solitary creatures. The three pandas last year were incongruous with their nature. On solitary panda sitting , gnawing on a bamboo tree is a lot nicer. Plus the bamboo forest behind him is nicely detailed. I like it.
