There seems to be a little separation on the obverse and in the same spot on the reverse the core has a little bit of 'white.' Report this Post to the Staff

Libertad Pillar of the Community Canada 3692 Posts	Posted 10/06/2013 09:02 am I collect tones of these. What you have is a coin that was struck slightly off-centre. The core was moved a little bit so that flash of white that you see is the nickel outer ring and the separation is in the copper centre. Amazing how the centre tries to keep it together as the coin is being smashed into shape. And yes, it's quite common, but to varying degrees. Sometimes they are way off, and sometimes less so than the one you have. But your coin seems to be within Mint tolerance, I believe. t_y Pillar of the Community Canada 632 Posts	Posted 10/06/2013 3:13 pm The ring was cut a bit offcentre with a bit of deformation of the planchet. You will see this in all years, but more evident in 1999 (bought one more yesterday at the Tyranto Show). It is a quite appealing error, in special in mint state coins.
