I really enjoyed being part of the Secret Santa holiday exchange. I want to thank everyone that took part and helped make it so much fun, particularly rggoddie who made it all happen.
Based on my, and seemingly other's, experiences however I would suggest a rule 8 be added for next year:
"Upon receiving your Secret Santa gift you make every effort to reply to the thread within 48 hours to acknowledge its receipt."

I agree with NJ Bob, or maybe make the rule one that says you have to add tracking or something, so if someone has the package sent to a location they are not currently at, the sender will still know their gift arrived even if the recipient can't vouch for that immediately. As it is, I am about to make a trip to the LCS, and in the back of my mind, I am thinking I may have to buy some replacement gifts (and if it turns out my gift arrived last month, I will keep what I buy! Win-win!). Regardless of whether this is instituted or not, next year I will be doing this.

I arrived home after my travels, and as I had hoped, my Santa gift had arrived.
Mailed on Christmas day, appropriately, it traveled half way around the world, from Istanbul to me!
Inside were a type set of East German coins - a country and a currency that no longer exist. And as a special extra, a British sixpence from 1897. How did Santa know I've always wanted a Victorian coin?
Thank you, Santa! And thanks to CCF for this wonderfully fun activity!

Quote: you have to add tracking or something Some of the participants can barely afford the postage along with the gift this is why you get to choose if you want to be assigned out of country or not. This is a HOLIDAY exchange not Christmas be patient. all will receive a gift.

Great excitement in the Pertinax household today, as our only caller is usually the postman at 11.30am. Rudolph arrived at my house at 2.40 pm today. Not in a sleigh (the snow hasn't arrived yet) but in a van parked 5 minutes walk away outside the old library. Not Rudolph the reindeer, though my postman's hair sticks out like a stag's antler, (that's why we call him Rudolph). He was very excited - he's never delivered a parcel from Russia before! Definitely from Secret Santa, he knew my collecting interests, but didn't leave his CCF name. The parcel contained a New Year card, a pair of bed socks, a pair of ordinary socks, a calendar, a letter, a Xmas sock and lots of coins and a banknote. Pictures of other items will follow later. Thank you very much indeed, Secret Santa.

I am going to have to think about another gift, I sent mine at least 2 if not 3 weeks ago and it still has not arrived. I only do tracking if it is something I sold on ebay, and between tracked and non-tracked mail I have never had something not arrive safely. Kind of a bummer.
