Moes 1814 O-108a is my favorite. They really banged those dies together at least 3 times, each with a slightly different alignment. Those must have been hubbed on a Friday at about 4:30 with a hot date waiting to go for a spin in the old horse and buggy. Or someone was drunk. Fun to think about what little things may have caused these coins to have the personality they do.

Hopefully a member has one to show today but since I didn't expect that to happen, I spent some time on Heritage drooling over previous sales. The one shown above is the finest known. Personally, I would opt to save $162K and go for this one. The eye appeal is

And on the lower end of pricing for an 1815 this ain't bad. It may be tooled but I certainly would like to have it in my collection.

Thanks Jeff! SWEEEEET 1815s!!

I would also go with a more fiscally conservative 1815, given the choice! (I WILL have one, some day. Oh yes. This I vow).
