In the Bank today, the teller called me over and said she had a couple customer nickel rolls brought in yesterday they were the kind in the clear wrapper that hardly ever stays closed.

She had broke one open to put in her till, but when she had seen some of the dates she put them away for me...

1923/1927/ 1944/ 1953/1960/1961/1962/1963/1966MS-62/3 3 or so 1967s

I've just got to get her a big box of chocolates soon...

Last year I was in the bank and asked if there was any bills to be destroyed... I ended up picking up 1 $2 3 $5 a $10 and a $20 that were all devils face.. a couple birds series $20's and one '37 $1... I bought the branch two large orders of doughnuts and two large "jugs" of coffee from timmies...

since then it's been pretty dry...

I wanted to do some nickle searching.. but with the new poly notes coming up.. I really want to try and pick up some interesting serials.

I can tell your 1 cent coins are certainly nearly gone. They usually mix quite a bit with ours, as I am just across the border. Not seeing as many of them now. I got a 1965 the other day and I saved it. 1997 and later go back into the wild.
You nickel plated steel stuff circulates no where near as much over here as the old pure nickel did in the past.

Isn't it better to keep a coin in circulation instead of destroying it to make others? You still have to add the steel and plate it, so it doesn't cut down on time. I just think that a coin is more useful in circulation even if it's 100 years old.

Found $7.45 in pure nickel coin in my dad's change jars. More coins saved from the ARP. Three nice ones from the millenial series.

What do you think will happen to nickel coin sets from 1968-80's, when the ARP finially gets all the nickel coins? I wonder if they will go up in value. It's sad how these sets are ignored by collectors.

They have no where else to go but up. As nickel circulation pieces become rarer, especially in mint state, people will cannibalize the mint sets for collections.

Nickels are a great place for new collectors to start! Lots still sitting around in jars and drawers; easy to buy most since 1920s.

I got a 1997 nickel, low 7, in change last week. I thought that was kind of neat.

I find more pre-1982 nickels floating around out there than 2013 nickels.
