Is This A 1969 S Lincoln Proof? - Coin Community Forum

I get my new loupe on Monday and it would be great to have my first proof. I tried uploading the full picture but it keeps saying I need to optimize it. Report this Post to the Staff

In regards to the DDO, maybe I'm just missing it, but I don't see any indication of one. Report this Post to the Staff

theworstever Valued Member United States 126 Posts	Posted 11/10/2013 03:56 am Sorry guys. I hit the 9 instead of the 8. I can't tell the difference between a proof and a business strike. I was going off lincoln resource for the info. The 1968 s is listed as a proof and my coin looked similar. Thanks guys for the help. I'll try the pictures again. Report this Post to the Staff

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 11/10/2013 06:31 am San Francisco started striking proofs in 1968 but they also minted business strike cents 1968-1974 and business strike nickels 1968-1970. Proofs of that era will not always have a cameo appearance but the strikes will be much stronger and the fields will be reflective, even after circulation. Report this Post to the Staff
