I'm debating on this die that struck this coin. It was obviously cracked, but since part of the planchet is missing by the date, I'm thinking it was broken also.
The pictures only show some of the major areas. The reverse is normal which is to be expected.
I agree with Metalman on the lamination except on the date. that could be lamination but looks more like a strike through to me. I also agree with GO nice find Gary too
I agree with everyone, I dropped the ball on this one. I took the pics in a hurry because I had other coins to photograph. On further reveiw, and due to everyone's comments on the coin, I know see they are lamination cracks.
I think the place by and on the date came of before the strike or the strike knocked that part out.
I have several coins with lamination problems, so I should know better.
