Was just going thru my pennies last night that I was about to sell on ebay and found this one! Too bad it's only in 'fine' condition, but I'm about 99% sure that it's my first 1917 Double Die!

Any confirmation?

Looks like a Bingo by my card. A little olive oil or Acetone would help that coin a bunch.

Looks like it to me

Why does the edge of the coin at 4 o'clock look kinda funny? Or is it just the lighting.

I think it's just the lighting. I'll take it home and look at it with my loop.

Looks good to me too but make sure it is what you think it is before trying to sale it on ebay. here is another one to look at. check your coin with this one and if it looks similar you will know what you have.
good luck
Gary too

The first one I find I don't sell! Only the second one! This one's a keeper.

Thanks for the pictures. It really helps confirm the diagnosis. The bottom right corner of the one has the stair step that is a key indicator. The serif of the inner 9's loop is what got my initial attention.

I agree that it is a DD. The split in the serif is a key indicator. All the newbie should take note.

I have the book Looking Through Lincoln Cents in a giveaway thanks to Charles D. Daughtrey at https://www.coppercoins.com

Guess right or closest and it's all yours.

That is 1917 DDO#1, or as listed on coppercoins.com, 1917P-1DO-001. In fine condition it should sell for close to $100.

Vaslin, I did not notice if coppercoins promoted his book "Looking through Lincoln Cents", but if you intend to spend time looking at them like I do, you should get it. It is a great source of information.
