DrDon Pillar of the Community United States 2624 Posts	Posted 12/01/2013 12:12 pm oops! Almost forgot; your coin is an example of what is called Machine Doubling (MD). It is common and can happen to any coin,any mint or any year. It is due to the machine getting a little "loose" and not separating properly. Report this Post to the Staff

Collector-Corner Pillar of the Community 872 Posts	Posted 12/02/2013 10:49 am I am looking at the poster's Very Top coin pic, and it looks like at the top of the date, there might have been a very light "S" strike between the 9 and 6..... Guess it could be a die clash? heck I dunno Am I seeing things ? Check out http://www.coppercoins.com for info on copper varieties. Check out http://www.errorvariety.com/OFD/MD.html for the differences between a Doubled Die Obverse ( DDO), Doubled Die Reverse ( DDR) and the common damage to coins called Machine Doubling (MD).
