Sure is quiet on this site during the weekdays. I guess I'll take advantage and post some more NS halfpennies.

Here are the first 3 of my 1843's. NS-1E1 (PNS-705 R-1) with a repunched S in SCOTIA. NS-1E2 (PNS-701 R-3). NS-1E3 (PNS-702 R-5).

What the heck; might as well put the last 3. NS-1E4 (PNS-706 R-5). NS-1E5 (PNS-709 R-4). NS-1E5 (PNS-711 R-3).

All were ebay auction wins. Including shipping costs, only 2 of my NS 1/2p tokens cost more than $20. 5 were $10-$20, 13 were under $10.

I'll start posting the semi-regal pennies soon, then the counterfeit 1/2 pennies and pennies. Lots to post.

(not yet in hand)
Tiffin token over struck on Bristol half penny host.

As tiffins' were struck in brass and bristols' were struck in copper this is a unique combination.

If the host coin turns out to be a bristol in brass then it would be even more unique.

Break out the XRF analyzer for the imitation 1812 token. The planchet can't be from a normal Bristol 1/2p as they weigh approx. 9 grams. Tiffin token TF-42 listed as copper is marked as 5.5 grams, the brass ones (TF-01) at 5.1 grams (although 2 of my 3 are under 5 grams). A brass planchet from Bristol would also be possible as it was the Bristol Brass & Copper Company.

The circular mark (referred to as die plaining {planing?})on the Tiffin imitations appears on the common TF-01. Wade's token appears to have the start of the blisters on TF0-01a, 01b, 01c referred to in the Ingram "Tiffin Tokens of Canada". They are starting to form in front of and behind the bust. The circular mark on the reverse lessens as the die wore, and the later stages have a groove instead.

Here are 3 examples; TF-01 with the same circular mark, 01b and 01c with "blisters". The weights of the ones posted are 4.7, 4.82 and 5.29 grams, so there is a wide range.

Usually those eagle tokens are really worn or corroded. It looks like you got yourself a nice original there. The imitation 1813's have larger letters.
I'd rub that one a light rub on my t-shirt to get the dirt off and give it a bit of a shine. Sometimes it works wonders, no liquids necessary, won't harm it.
